Michelle Obama Gets It Done

Tonight, Michelle Obama talked about being a daughter, a mother and a wife. She spoke about idealism, common folks, the armed services and what her husband Barack Obama stands for and how he sees the world.

In a night that was boring in the extreme, where the Democrats seem to have no message and no mention John McCain, Michelle brought it home, speaking from the heart.

Holding the audience in the palm of her hand, at times having them in tears, she brought a message of hope and gave us the reasons why we should elect Barack Obama. She gave a moving personal portrait of two people involved in public service. Who believe in America and the American dream.

At last.

She gave homage to Hillary Clinton, Women’s Suffrage and Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. She’s not a liability; she’s a great asset to the Obama campaign. Now that she’s been defined, it will be infinitely more difficult for Republicans to continue their attack on her.

There was also a very moving tribute to Ted Kennedy tonight. Let’s not forget that the turning point of the Obama campaign was when Ted Kennedy threw his support to Barack Obama.

So, tonight was the warm and fuzzies, tomorrow hopefully, we’ll see the red meat, where the Democrats define why you elect Obama, and why we don’t need another four years of Republican policies.
