Google and 3 Way Automatic Back Links

Google hates three way automatic back link schemes. Don't think that Google Annilation, Automatic Backlinks or Neurolinker will actually fool them.

Since these involve scripts on your computer with a link page, how hard is it for Google's algorythms to figure out?

How do I know for sure? I tested the theory two of the three automatic back link programs. I lost PR and slight SERPs (search engine result pages) positioning for the affected sites.

"Okay, so you got caught with three way back links and Google punished you a little," you say. " What makes this a WTF moment?"

Well, I also noticed that my click through rate or CTR went down significantly. I mean way beyond what a little jiggle from third to six place in the SERPs would call for. AND more importantly, this hit all my sites. Not just the three I tossed to the wolves.

We run close to 60 sites. This represented a significant revenue change at a time where our traffic has been climbing daily.

Just a coincidence? I think not. We removed all of the linking schemes. And our CTR improved within 48 hours.

I am very grateful to Google for not banning our sites outright - my partners would have killed me.

The way I figure it, Google Annilation, Automatic Backlinks and Neurolinker run beta scripts for testing purposes that are harder to pin-point. But once their scripts are stable, voila - Google adds to the naughty list.

So, back to doing links the old-fashioned way and avoiding 3 way automatic back link schemes all together. It's the smart thing to do.

Which 2 of the 3 did you try out? Automatic Backlinks seems to do things
differently by placing links more organically within pages, rather than running
a script on a "links" page.

Automatic Backlinks and Neurolinker. I was shut out of Google
Annilation.

While I liked both programs, don't think you're not putting a
script on your pages when using Automatic Backlinks. The module - and that's how
I installed it, as a Joomla module, does run a script. Whether it looks natural
or not, it's not.

Perhaps, because I have such a high CTR, my
sites get reviewed by Google monthly. I've gotten nailed everytime I've stepped
out of the box. Whereas, other sites seem to get away with a lot more.

It's a
pity because both programs looked so promising and Neurolinker has set up social
networking only and blog content only modules.
